BIOGRAPHY

Veronica Oborn Jefferis' most recent work has been larger-than-life plant studies rendered in clayboard, charcoal and mixed media. These drawings concentrate not on the decorative elements of plants but the architecture of stems and leaves, their shape, tone and texture.

Previously Veronica has also concentrated on delicate and detailed watercolours of plants. They show precise botanical detail and collections of imperfect specimens.

Her work has been exhibited at Greenhill Gallery, Newton Gallery, and The Citadel and numerous other exhibitions. Veronica has worked as a professional children's book illustrator. She has illustrated 18 books, all of which required paintings on the theme of plants, animals and insects; the most notable being 'Deep in the Rain Forest'.

Veronica also teaches art in secondary schools, the Botanic Gardens and privately.
